Recently I’ve been re-discovering my ole needle and thread days. Forgotten how much fun and therapeutic sewing is! Many years ago, I did aspire to be a fashion designer and was en route to becoming one. Although, along the way I seemed to make better friends with a keyboard & mouse, rather than a sewing machine. This is just a fun project, creating textile letters out of patterned fabrics, with lace and button details. I will post more soon when near to completion.
Captured some great shots at the beach over the weekend. Will upload them to my Flickr at some point. This photo is one of my favourites. Grasses blowing in wind.
Kris Hollingsworth constructed an amazing self portrait that includes an entire poem captured, one word at a time, with long exposure light writing.

Starbucks the new logo. Its interesting to see they’ve dropped not only the name but the “coffee” bit. It shows that they’re looking beyond being just a coffee brand. In recent years Starbucks has introduced selling papers, music and more food to their chains.
The new logo gives them the flexibility to create not only a new identity but a new type of Starbucks.

This is a beautiful calendar by Oscar Diaz; the Ink Calendar.
The ink will slowly color each day of the month as time passes by.
Stunning.

Oh snap! Girl Talk got infographicked!
According to my ‘know it all’ computer, infographicked isn’t a word. Pft. It’s almost 2011 folks. People are getting infographicked every day.
Today’s innocent bystander is mashup king, Girl Talk. His latest LP, All Day, has been lashing the M&C speakers for weeks. And for weeks we’ve been studying every single sample over at All Day Samples in preparation for a ‘sample off’ at the next hipster-nerd party. But ADS is an ugly site. So you could image our relief when the vector-heads at Fast Company announced this graphic tastiness.
Queue the sighs of relief.
Chris.
Slow motion and CGI in perfect combination. It does creep into perfume advert land but manages to keep a foot in arty world.
Fantastic work and you can watch the making of here http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mfwmQu9UfQg
